This team has created a non-invasive brain computer interface named as BCI that can restore mobility and Independence with amputated limbs of one day before.With this technology of BCI, volunteers has controlled the flight of small model helicopter with the help of mind.
This look amazing and sounds more like science fiction than science fact but scientists are working on this project for past several decades.
Recently they worked successfully on controlling wheelchair, eat chocolate and drink coffee with the help of their mind.
Until now the most successful BCIs introduced so far are those which rely on the electrodes surgically implemented in the brain.This is due to the fact that electrical activity generated by the brain is so weak, more likely that it will be drowned out y the stady hum of actvity in the brain.
There is a drawback in this technology that the person who is already compromised by an injury or paralysis can not be taken in front of medical risks linked with brain surgery and chronic brain.
Another experiment is performed on this BCI as volunteers required to fly quickly through the suspended rings as many time as possible with in four minutes.Volunteers guides as front facing camera mounted on skull.
This result is shown on world congress on medical physics and biomedical engineering, subject is able to fly and pass through 74 percent of the rings in just four minutes.
This teams hopes that using the helicopter, instead of any assisting device make people think about the wide range of application in this field.
The basic point is that this technology has the potential to enhance the quality of life for the people.
