iPhone Microscope:-
When we talk about smart phone, one this that comes to our mind that they have smart features like GPS(Global Positioning System), Accelerometer, eye tracking and much more features, but have you thought of getting a feature like microscope in your iPhone, thats sound different, but that done in iPhone.
They become popular diagnostic tool in medical field, it is popular in physicians now a days for testing and observing clinical information and to perform other tasks in medical field.
Smart phone promises to make life better and help your in medical care in remote areas where diagnostic testing tools for medical are not available like in deserts or forest where you have to examin small microscopic insects or any bacteria, you can't take you microscope there, but smart can!!!. For this purpose an international resercher team started work on it and presented a report about this project in a journal of Tropical medicine and hygiene.
They took a small lens of about 8$, and attach it on camera of iPhone with a sticky tape and start observing eggs of small parasitic worm. They are amazed to see that this is working and they able to see its egg very clearly like an ordinary microscope.
They tried to compare this cheap microscope with standard one on observing infected children of a small village, results shows that this iPhone microscope was sufficient in detecting worms eggs, while other are not.

This is a good technique in rural areas where we have no reach of modern digital and accurate diagnostic tools for dectecting problems, thats the simple method, this could save many peoples life.

Here is description of setup
We transfored a mobile phone into microscope be a 3mm lens in to the camera of iPhone 4S with double sided tape, similar to work described by Smith and their team.A small hole was positioned in hole was punctured in mid point of doubled sided tape, now position lens in position of hole of camera, now lens is centered over the iPhone camera les with sticky tape of holding purpose.Place Kato-Katz thick smear slide directly against the doubled sides tape with a small led powered by AA battery shown in figure, now turn on the led and go to the camera option of iPhone and increase zoom, it was estimated that this method could achieve50-60 micro magnification.This all looks so different but its done, you can try by your self if you have an iPhone.
