Camera can view just like Insects:-
I think every eye has different view of the world, to elaborate this lets take an example of an insect, its view to the world is different from the view of human eye because every insect has typically made up of hundreds or may be thousands of corneal lenses, in simple words it has so many eyes in a single

eye, each of which can captures the part of overall whole view in front of it.Every lens captures its portion of view in front of it. Its mind captures all the images from the hundreds or thousands of lens and make them in a single view. So think how many dimension of view can insect capture. But God is creative, Can do any thing.
Now coming back to my topic, this whole store which i tell you is because there is a research going on in University of Illinois of the development of such a camera that can view same as insects eye. That sounds different because how a small camera can has hundreds or thousands of lens and can get full view from all dimensions and angles. But that is true, and many researchers are working to make such a device like camera which can get image from all dimensions like insect eye.
According to their point of view, every lens inside the insects is know as Ommantidium, insects uses this lens to make a corneal lens, crystalline cone and a light sensitive organ which helps them in viewing. Researcher of Illinois creates an artificial ommatidium a rubbery optics that can be changed in to mesh like structure or can be stretched or deformed.It can be changed in different shapes and sizes because it is a rubbery optics which can be deformed in to different shape and sizes.
They combined about 180 micro lenses in a hemispherical pattern and made an artificial eye which is same as found in fire ant. It is required to make a such type of camera which is which has 180 degree field of view with infinite depth of field and perfect focus in every part of captured image. It is much more powerful than the single lens digital camera. It can be used in different applications like in field of medical science, surveillance and many other fields.
It requires number of manufacturing techniques and supporting software that stitches the image.

This project is at the beginning level. Scientist, researchers and different engineers are working on this project to make it successful. Its output can be increased by increasing the number of the micro lens because increasing the lens can increase the number of dimensions and angles.
Ant fire can have 180 ommatidia and dragonfly has nearly 28,000 ommatidia. Think if any smartphone can have such type of camera then their how many maga pixels it can have, beside this we are now a day talking about the 720p or 1080p recording video than think how much quality this can have.
