What is Image Processing:


Short Introduction:
                                  Image Processing as named suggests it is the processing of Image to get results according to our desire.A daily life example of image processing is Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft's Picture manager or Google's Picasa are free software.

These all software provide user to apply different applications such as cropping image, color changing, adjust brightness and all stuff like that.

These are all the examples of image processing, although these applications are easy to use but the software behind it has been written by certain program code.



Image Processing has two main categories:

1.  Improvement of Pictorial information for human perception:

This category mainly concern on pictures which are already stored in system.
Main applications are:

• Removing Blurriness
• Segmentation
• Morphological Processing
• Object Recognitions
• Color Image Processing

2.  Image Processing in Robots:

This category is concern with the real time applications related to image.They are used in user controller robots, autonomous robots, autonomous machine applications.

• Automated Target detection and tracking system
• Finger Print, Iris, Facial Recognitions System
• Robotic Vision
• Autonomous robots and autonomous vehicles

There are many applications like MATLAB, LABVIEW, Image J, OpenCV which provide various applications of image processing in both categories.
